With the passage of time, the amount of data present in the world is growing at an exponential rate. These data need to be processed, analyzed, observed and used in an efficient way. These information can be put to use in various fields. Data of weather conditions over a big span of time can be used to get an idea about global warming. Information regarding traffic densities at an area can be utilized in an artificial intelligence based electric vehicle.

All these stuffs are possible with AI and ML.

What is AI?

According to John McCarthy who coined the term AI as:

“The science and engineering of making intelligent machines.”

In general terms, AI can be understood as solving reasoning and arithmetic issues by the device in an efficient way for which there are no predefined codes.

What is ML?

Machine learning is the subset of artificial intelligence which helps computers to learn without programming.

Machine learning actually trains computers to learn. They learn from past experiences, examples and other things. They learn to do things for which they aren’t programmed. The large amount of data proves beneficial in training the machines.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are the two partners in the new era of technology which go hand in hand. There are so interrelated that they can be termed to be in a relationship. When we think of machine learning and artificial intelligence in venn diagram, artificial intelligence would be the bigger circle with machine learning inside it.

Artificial intelligence has many parts, they include:

1. Machine learning: – It is an offshoot of AI which is inspired by the notion that machine can also learn by patterns and data.
2. Neural network:- The basic idea behind it is motivated by the human brain structure. They try to find the relationship between two set of information in the same manner in which a human brain works. They find application in financial markets, weather forecasting, fraud detection etc.
3. Deep learning:– It is a type of machine learning. It usually works in a similar fashion to that of a human brain in processing of data and creating patterns which are used in decision making. Deep learning AI has the capability to learn without human supervision.
4. Natural language processing:- It is the ability if devices to recognize , observe and process human languages and speeches. It also provides the features where human can interact with system in a day to day language for performing operations.

Concluding the article, we can say there is a huge potential in the coming time in the field of artificial intelligence along with few challenges of bias, computing power, integration etc.
